This is my grandfather's country, my father's side. This is the country of the Piltati Tjukurpa; the wanampi tjukurpa. The two watersnakes story.
There are many waterholes here. It is good country for food and water. Nyapari Community is close to the Piltati waterhole.
Carol Stevens is from Fregon on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara/ Yankunytjatjara Lands, 350km SE of Uluru.
Carol's mother is Beverley Cameron and together they paint at Kaltjiti Arts Centre. Her paternal grandmother is the well known artist from Tjungu Palya, the late Kunanmara (Eileen) Stevens.
Carol is married to Rogie Roberts from Fregon, they have one daughter.
