"Painting makes me think of going outbush in Blackstone. We had no cars no shops - ate bushfoods - goanna, kampurarpa rabbit, honey ants."
My paintings make me think back to when I lived in the bush with my family. They are like a memory and a map of the country, my grandfathers country Witapi Wara."Originally from Blackstone in Western Australia, Delma now lives at Watinuma Community, twenty five kilometres from Fregon on the *APY LAnds. She is married and has a daughter and a young son. She paints at the Kaltjiti Art Centre. She is a valued arts-worker contributing to the management of the centre.
Delma's father is the well know artist Untjima Fred Forbes from Blackstone *Anangu Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara Lands, in the far northwest of South Australia.
