.... Nyunmiti Susan Burton est née à Alice Springs en 1964. Elle a grandi à Pukatja (Ernabella) avec ses parents, où elle a fréquenté l'école. Après avoir terminé ses dernières années d'école au collège Yirara à Alice Springs, Nyunmiti est retournée à Ernabella et a commencé son premier emploi au centre d'arts et métiers travaillant avec les batiks.

En 1980, Nyunmiti s'est mariée et a déménagé à Amata où elle a commencé une carrière en tant qu'agent  en éducation indigène. Nyunmiti s'est formée pour devenir enseignante et a obtenu son diplôme en 1997.
Nyunmiti est la vice-présidente du NPY Women's Council et occupe un poste très respecté et de haut niveau dans sa communauté.

Bien que très occupée à travailler avec le conseil des femmes et à enseigner la langue Pitjantjatjarra à Adélaïde, Nyunmiti a trouvé le temps de revenir sur les chemins de l'art, où elle a commencé sa carrière il y a tant d'années.

Nyunmiti peint son pays et se souvient des histoires qui lui ont été transmises par son père, sa mère et son grand-père lorsqu'elle peint. Elle pense à la façon dont il y a longtemps, ils avaient l'habitude de s'occuper du territoire. Il y avait beaucoup de nourriture et les familles étaient heureuses de voyager d'un endroit à l'autre. J'ai entendu ces histoires de mon père, de ma mère et de mes grands-pères. Je pense à l'avenir du pays pour la prochaine génération.

Elle a été finaliste à plusieurs reprises pour le prestigieux Telstra NATSIAA Award au Museum of Darwin: en 2014 et 2015.

Nyunmiti Susan Burton was born in Alice Springs in 1964. She grew up in Pukatja (Ernabella) with her parents where she
attended school. After completing her final school years at Yirara College in Alice Springs, Nyunmiti moved back to Ernabella and began her first job at the arts and crafts centre working with batik.
In 1980, Nyunmiti married and moved to Amata where she began a career as an Aboriginal Education Worker. Nyunmiti trained to become a teacher, completing her degree in 1997.
Nyunmiti is the Vice Chairperson of NPY Women's council and holds a very respected and senior position within her community.
Although very busy working with women's council and teaching Pitjantjatjarra in Adelaide, Nyunmiti has found the time to come back to arts, where she began her career so many years ago.
Nyunmiti paints her country and is remembering stories passed down to her from her father, mother and grandfather when she paints. She is thinking of about how a long time ago they used to look after the country, there was plenty of food and families were happy traveling around from place to place. I heard these stories from my father, mother and grandfathers. I think about the future of the country for the next generation.

She was finalist several times for the the prestigious Telstra NATSIAA Award at the Museum of Darwin : in 2014 and 2015.
